(More customer reviews)In trying to research topics related to the Dakota Conflict of 1862, I found it very difficult to find books related to the subsequent internment and the events that transpired during and after this internment. Monjeau-Marz does a wonderful job using historical resources to put together an interesting and relevant book.
The information presented was based upon strong historical data, and was organized in a very reader-friendly way. The chapters, and the overall formatting made for a very easy read, which is rare in historical books like this.
The photographs used were very appropriate and helped the reader get a visual picture of life in the internment camp.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and found it to be extremely relevant in furthering my understanding of the Dakota Conflict and the events that followed.
