(More customer reviews)My mom had an old copy of this hanging around the house when I was a kid, from when she was a kid. It tells the story of a young man who wants to be a forest ranger, specifically what is called a smokechaser, who watches for and puts out forest fires. The book is very well-written; dramatic, detailed, and develops the characters and their relationships well. This book always makes me want to get out of the house and off the computer and out into a park or forest, which is a plus.
