(More customer reviews)This is the first of a trilogy by the author. The next two volumes are now available, at least directly from the author. He has taken this story all of us in the upper midwest may know, and by separating volumes, gives the background leading up to the problems in 1862 in Minnesota. I think it is comprehensive and much better than other books I have read, even those issued by the Minnesota Historical Society in that they summarize the prelude to the uprisings. This book takes it back to the proper detailed events leading up. Highly recommended. I found it by accident at Barnes and Noble.
Easy to read and filled with photos.
