(More customer reviews)This chapbook, devoted entirely to poems about firefighters is, of course, timely. Mr. Hoppey is not a particularly polished poet and sometimes the poems are awkward. But they are moving, honest, and devoid of gimmicks. He appears to care not at all about the requirements and interests of poetry editors. He wants to help us better understand firefighters and he succeeds.
