Judgement Day (A Town Called Fury, Book 3) Review

Judgement Day (A Town Called Fury, Book 3)

Two years have passed since the little town of Fury sprung up from the Arizona desert and to everyone's surprise Fury has doubled in population despite the harshness of life. The town has battled the Apache and Mexican bandits, but living is a little easier knowing there's a wall surrounding the town, protecting it from intruders.
But according to Ward Wanamaker, the Apache are growing restless and a band are headed straight for town. With the alert raised in time, Jason Fury--the Marshal--orders everyone into town, the gates closed and the men to their weapons. The Apache are caught off guard, not expecting the town to be gated and leave after a disheartening battles which wounds or kills many on both sides. Even with the Apache retreating, Jason knows they haven't seen the last of them so he orders the men to dig a moat around the perimeter of the town and to fill it with whale oil and kerosene.
The Apache attack again two days later, and when the moats are lit, they are astounded by how the ground could catch fire but are not deterred. They decide if they can't get into town they'll split up and begin burning the buildings outside of town, starting with Matt and Jenny MacDonald's. Jason and a few other men go to the houses on the outskirts of Fury and warn the residents, telling them to pack up and move into town. But will all these efforts succeed in thwarting the Apache and keep the settlers of Fury safe? Or will Lone Wolf lead his tribe to victory?
Judgment Day, third in the A Town Called Fury series, is a high-velocity novel, full of danger, edge-of-your-seat suspense and even a little romance. Not to be missed! Looking forward to the fourth book in July.

It didn't matter that the warrant was years old, or that Smoke Jensen had been cleared of all charges. A Texas bounty hunter believed he could still collect $10,000 for killing Jensen, and he intended to do just that. But when he and his men came calling, Jensen was nowhere to be found. "The Return of the Mountain Man" is the second of the Last Mountain Man series, and it is with this book that the Legend of Smoke Jensen really begins. William Johnstone is a Master storyteller and this book will keep you interested from start to finish as Smoke Jensen who seeks his revenge as Buck West for the murder of his first wife and child. This book is an excellent starting point to the tales of Smoke Jensen which will follow in other books in the series. As in all Johnstone a lesson can be learned if one reads deeply enough.... It will be left up to you the reader to find that message.

All books that have William Johnstone as the Author are some of the best books we have ever read. Not one of his books have not kept our attention. We understand that he has passed away which is very sad, but someone in the family is keeping his name going along with his wonderful books. I especially love all his western books.

once again Smoke is off to help a friend. This time its to help his friend monte recover his kidnapped wife. Once again mr johnstone starts out fine with his character but uses too many flash backs it seems like hes writing too much or something and had to have many fill in flashbacks. Since lamour died he has been one of my favortie writers but im starting to get away from his series books and going for his new character books.

"The Last Mountain Man" is the beginning of the Smoke Jensen story. Smoke is a raw naive kid, who learns fast, and won't take any crap from any outlaw murdering thief. If you like the Western genre you'll LOVE William W. Johnstone's "Mountain Man" series. Smoke Jensen is genuine.

Matt Jensen: The Last Mountain Man (Mountain Man: Matt Jensen) Review

Matt Jensen: The Last Mountain Man (Mountain Man: Matt Jensen)
Average Reviews:

Of the Mountain Man Series I like the Preacher the best, Smoke Jensen next, and Matt Jensen is far back. Maybe because the story line has come so predictable; that was the reason I grew tired of Smoke Jensen. This is also true of the story of Matt Jensen, but William Johnstone seems to have grown tired too. The action scenes have become very dull and almost non-descriptive.
I'll go back to the Preacher and Smoke every once in a while, because I like the good vs evil theme with strong descriptive action and characters. I don't know if I'll go back to see how Matt is doing, because I think I know.

Don't read this book....unless you're prepared to read the ton of other
books in the "Smoke Jensen and Preacher" series. This author writes a book
before breakfast and another just before dinner. They're plentiful and
highly addictive. Suspend belief and enjoy.
Smoke Jensen, in particular, shoots or fist fights around a hundred
hard cases per book and they all highly deserve the mayhem he delivers.
In spite of this high fiction (most famous old West gunfighters only
killed 3 or 4 men in their entire lives) you'll soldier on with the
series because Smoke Jensen is the stuff heros are made of and the
writing is crisp and moving.
Just don't say you weren't warned when you find that you spent your whole
summer (or winter) in a comfy chair with 50 or so of these read books
strewn around you.

Howdy folks, I'm James Drury, of television's the Virginian. These days I'm reading books onto audio tape, so I get the chance to read a lot of books. I must say, if you like gritty realism, you will like this Johnstone book. I liked it, but because of the amount of violence I probably would not let a younger reader pick it up. I have heard Johnstone compared to Kirby Jonas, and I guess my best way to review this book is to say, if you enjoy realism with a lot of violence, go with Johnstone, and if you enjoy your realism with the violence slightly toned down, go with Jonas. He is my personal favorite. But both are great writers and will surely live on forever with well deserved notoriety!
